After the New York pass slip

The stamp comes after the commission exists.

Order from Notary Training & Supplies Inc once the county and expiration are on the license. Stamps, the journal, the embosser, and the jurat stamp leave the maker within 10 business days inside New York. The two frames are printed here.

Classes and supplies are sold by Notary Training & Supplies Inc, the association’s chosen vendor. The same vendor also publishes howtobecomeanotaryinny.com. The New York State Notary Association is a volunteer service — free newsletter, refresher videos, and law updates the state does not send to licensed notaries.

Since January 25, 2023 the commission is not complete without a written log. Every act goes in this bound book — traditional or electronic — and the book stays for ten years. Numbered pages. Lines for the document, the ID, the fee, and the venue. The stamp does not replace it.

Most New York certificates do not require a raised seal. Protest papers, some bank inventories, and documents headed out of state still expect one. The License Law allows the impression on every act. We cut the die from the commissioned name and county after you order.

The statement of authority under your signature: name, Notary Public, State of New York, county of qualification, and the date the commission ends. A desk self-inker keeps that block the same on every page. The die lasts the four-year term. Order it after the license is in hand, not before.
